Interior & exterior painting

Look at where the colors meet.

Anyone can roll a wall. The line where wall meets ceiling, trim and tile is the part you look at every day — and the first thing a rushed crew gives up on. Owner-run painting in Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee and the Beaches.

Why the finish holds

Paint is the cheap part.
Everything under it isn't.

Ten miles from the Atlantic, a paint job is a weather product. Here is what actually decides whether yours still looks right in year five.

01

Prep is most of the job

Florida stucco chalks, caulk joints split, and old latex lifts at the edges. Washing, scraping, sanding and priming is where the years come from — not the topcoat.

02

The cut line

Wall to ceiling, wall to trim, wall to tile. It's the detail you see from the sofa every night, and the one a crew working by the hour rushes first.

03

Sun, salt and elevation

South and west walls take punishment the shaded sides never see. Product choice and how thick the film goes on matter far more here than they would inland.

04

Coming back

Settling cracks and hairlines show up months later, long after most painters have cashed the check. Elegance is known for checking in a year after the job is done.

What we paint

Inside, outside, and the parts
most painters won't touch.

Every job below is work Elegance has actually delivered in St. Johns County homes — the photographs further down are all real projects.

01

Interior painting

Walls, ceilings, baseboards and casing. Two-tone and chair-rail layouts cut clean, with furniture protected and the house put back together each evening.

02

Exterior painting

Stucco, lap siding, soffits, fascia, shutters and garage doors. Pressure washed, patched and caulked before a drop of finish goes on.

03

Cabinet & millwork refinishing

Kitchen and bath cabinetry sprayed to a hard, even finish — a fraction of the cost of replacing boxes that are still perfectly sound.

04

Ceilings & specialty finishes

Coffered and tray ceilings, plank and shiplap accent walls, wallpaper hanging, and the feature wall that changes a room on its own.

05

Doors & front entries

Front doors stripped, stained or repainted. The first three feet of your house that every guest and every buyer looks at closely.

06

Garage floor coatings

Flake and epoxy systems over prepared concrete — a finish that sheds oil, brake dust and Florida damp instead of soaking them up.

The signature

A band of white,
dead straight, all the way round.

The two-tone wall shows up again and again in Elegance's work — greige above, sage below, separated by a crisp white band that has to hold its line around every corner, doorway and return.

  • Laser-set heights so the band stays level across an open plan
  • Colors sampled on your wall, in your light, before anything is committed
  • Edges cut by hand — tape alone doesn't give you this

How a job runs

Four steps, and the last one
is a year after you've paid.

STEP 01

Walkthrough & written quote

Mick walks the house with you, notes the elevations and problem areas, and puts the scope and price in writing. Free estimates — confirm.

STEP 02

Prep

Wash, scrape, sand, patch, caulk, mask and prime. The unglamorous days that decide how the job looks in year five.

STEP 03

Paint

Cut and rolled or sprayed depending on the surface, with the product line you choose — confirm, and the house tidied at the end of every day.

STEP 04

Walk it — then again in a year

You and Mick walk the finished job together. Then he checks back in around a year later, once the house has moved and settled.

Questions

Before you call.

What areas do you cover?
Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee and roughly a ten-mile radius — which takes in Palm Valley, Sawgrass, the Jacksonville Beaches and much of St. Johns County. If you're just outside that, call and ask.
Do you handle both interior and exterior work?
Both, plus cabinet refinishing, ceilings and specialty finishes, door restaining and garage floor coatings. Every one of those is shown in the gallery above.
Is the estimate free?
To confirm with Mick. Either way, the walkthrough is done in person and the scope and price come to you in writing before any work is booked.
Are you licensed and insured?
To confirm — add the licence number and insurer here once Mick supplies them. Nothing about licensing or insurance should go live on this page until it has been verified.
Can you work while we're living in the house?
Yes — most interior jobs are done in occupied homes. Furniture is moved and covered, work is staged room by room, and the house is put back together at the end of each day.
What happens if something needs attention later?
Call. Elegance has a documented habit of checking back in with customers around a year after a job, once a house has settled and any hairline cracking has shown itself. Confirm whether a written warranty is offered.
